Strategic Imperatives and Foundational Mission
Training
Law enforcement training must be proactive, not reactive. I will ensure Carver County deputies receive the best evidence-based training available, including cutting-edge tools like the SafeWrap https://safewrapsystem.com restraint system for safer, more humane management of mental health crises. We will identify and close training gaps before critical incidents occur.

Officer Wellness
A strong Officer Wellness program is essential for deputy performance and retention. I will implement a comprehensive system that includes on-site mental health support, dedicated time and resources for physical fitness, peer support, and leadership that reinforces wellness as a core value. Healthy supported deputies make better decisions, reduce misconduct, and build stronger community trust.
Community Oriented Policing
We must return to the fundamentals of policing: building trust through human connection rather than just responding to calls. While technology and data have their place, nothing replaces personal engagement. I will expand community-oriented policing so every resident in Carver County feels valued, heard, and protected. Deputies will be visible and proactive in our communities, not just reactive.
Emergency Response and Visibility
Every community in Carver County – from Chanhassen and Waconia to the smallest townships – deserves fast, reliable response times. By maintaining full staffing, providing excellent training, and using a community-oriented framework, we will ensure high visibility and swift response to every call for service.
