As Sheriff of Carver County, my top priority is the safety and security of our residents. The Sheriff’s Office will deliver a full range of professional police services while resolutely enforcing the law. We will serve with Integrity, Professionalism, Transparency, and Courage. I am running for one four-year term to set a strong course for future generations. Working together, we will preserve Carver County as “A great place to live, work, and play for a lifetime!”
Servant Leadership – As Sheriff, I will prioritize community well-being while upholding the law and managing the Sheriff’s Office with fiscal responsibility. Protection and Service will meet the standards our residents expect and deserve. Throughout my career, I have led as servant leader. As your Chief Law Enforcement Officer, I will continue mentoring and developing the next generation of deputies to keep Carver County safe and strong.
Training Excellence – My goal is to build the best-trained, most trusted, and respected Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota. We will deliver superior training in key areas: Comprehensive Crisis Intervention, Use of Force, Officer Wellness, Jail Safety and Security, and School Safety/Youth Interaction. Training will target current deficiencies while applying lessons from past experiences for maximum impact. Above all, I will invest time, money, and energy in our greatest resource – the brave men and women of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
Community Oriented Policing – The Carver County Sheriff’s Office will operate with a proactive, relationship-based policing model. Our legitimacy rests on the trust of the people we serve. As Sheriff, I will lead with Common Sense emphasizing accountability, transparency, and open communication rooted procedural justice. The Sheriff’s Office will never be politicized. Through shared problem-solving, we will prevent crime and enhance safety for every family, neighbor, and community in Carver County!
Emergency Response and Visibility – As Sheriff, I will ensure rapid response times through a strong staffing strategy that achieves full deputy levels and puts more officers on patrol in our neighborhoods. Effective resource management across all operations will deliver real results. Highly visible policing deters crime, increases traffic enforcement, and fosters positive interactions between deputies and the community.
Firmly established in Carver County
My wife Jen and I live in Waconia. Our blended family consists of 7 children and 3 grandchildren. We have deep roots in Carver County. I am running for only 1 term, 4 years. 4 years to set the course for future generations. Leadership by conviction, with no concern for re-election. It would be a great privilege to serve as Sheriff and confirm that the Carver County Sheriff’s Office is advancing justly now and for future generations.
